The Lemmy (& Stacia) Years; Humpdaze With Hawkwind - Doremi Fasol Latido

The very first record I heard the very first time I learned how to inhale properly was Hawkwind's In Search Of Space, which explains a lot about me, not that anyone's asking. That one's been showing up on a lot of doom blogs lately so for that reason and one other I'm skipping it in favor of posting Doremi Fasol Latido, their third album and the first to feature Ian "Lemmy" KIlmister on bass guitar.  Then every Wednesday for the next few weeks I'll be posting more classic Hawkwind records from an era before the band lost it's two best-looking members ever...

This was awesome! I hadn't heard Hawkwind before - somehow they always fell through the cracks for me. My favorite here was "Urban Guerilla." What a fantastic early 70s heavy sleaze sound.

you'll be hearing more from the guy who wrote and sang that song, namely Robert Calvert, on this blog as time goes by...
